Greetings!

Spring is right around the corner and you know what that means?! That's right, the Pow-wow season is here and what better way to kick off the season then to join the Native American AIDS Project at our 5th Annual, Taking Care of the Tribe Pow-wow, commemorating National Native American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, next Saturday (3/19/11) at the Horace Mann Academic Middle School located at 3351 Mission Street here in San Francisco. This year we welcome Dustin Lovejoy, an enrolled member of the Omaha tribe in Nebraska, to come and share some of their traditions with the community. Gourd Dancing starts at 11am, grand entry at noon followed by our contests categories Golden Age to Tiny Tots. All drums and dancers are welcome, we can't wait to see you there!          
Are you a vendor?!
donatenowlogo1 2 If so, we WANT YOU! Vendor Registration is still open so head over to our online vendor application and get yourself signed up. Vendors can register up until the day of the event! Are you a local organization or business? Check out our advertisement page to get more details on buying an ad in our Pow-wow program, hand given to each and every person who attends our event! Deadline extended for ad's until Tuesday, March 15th!! Can't make this years pow-wow but still want to help? Make a tax deductible donation to NAAP through the network for good!
Sunrise Ceremony
Don't forget, NAAP will be having our Sunrise Ceremony, Friday, MARCH 18, 2011 at 6AM at the Civic Center Square, directly in front of city hall! Come pay homage to our brothers and sisters that have fallen from HIV/AIDS, celebrate the beginning of National Native American HIV/AIDS Awareness Day and the coming of brighter days. Drumming by Mike Bellanger and the NAAPsters, opening prayer by Dustin Lovejoy and dancing by the Miwok dancers. We will have coffee and snacks at the NAAP office immediately following the event.
