NAAP believes in serving not only the physical needs of our clients, but also in promoting mental and spiritual health. Towards this end, NAAP has a Mental Health Therapist, funded through the Native American Center of Excellence collaborative with the Native American Health Center, provide services to our clients on-site. Our licensed therapist, Mike Sanders, M.F.T., meets with clients who are accessing care at the Center of Excellence. Mikes Sanders has a specialty in Alcohol and Drug counseling. It is the policy of NAAP that some clients who engage Case Management may be required to meet with the Mental Health Therapist at least one time for a mental health assessment. Following this assessment, it is the client's choice of health of primary health care provides that decides whether or not to continue to engage the services of the Mental Health Therapist, as on-going mental health services can only be provided to Center of Excellence clients.
