Taking Care of the Tribe Powwow
Mark your calendars because NAAP’s 5th Annual Taking Care of the Tribe Powwow is set for Saturday March 19, 2011 and this year we are changing things up! During her trip back home to her reservation, Anna LeRoy our Peer Advocate and Powwow Coordinator was able to partake in her tribe’s annual powwow and wanted to bring some Omaha traditions back to the Bay with her. This is one powwow you won’t want to miss! Check out the all-new Powwow page for information on how to become a vendor, to purchase an advertisement in our brochure, to donate or to sponsor the powwow or a dance category. All donations are tax deductible so get them in before the New Year!

Trans Sweat
NAAP is pleased to announce the re-establishment of our Traditional Healing program, and is looking to our community for some support as we expand this program. NAAP is committed to providing the Native Trans community the opportunity to sweat in an environment of their peers. In order to accomplish this goal NAAP is looking for trans identified persons to lead and/or participate in this sweat. If you are anyone you know is interested or can assist us in this process, please email

Board Members Recruitment
NAAP is currently recruiting board members. If you or someone you know has a interest and passion for eliminating health disparities in the Native Community please contact Joan Benoit to have an application packet sent to you.
Winter Clothes Donation
Have extra winter clothes that are taking up space in your closet? Make room for the new fall trends and donate your gently used items to NAAP in person or through the Giving Effect (http://naap-ca.thegivingeffect.com/). NAAP is specifically looking for and only has the capacity to retain outerwear, rainwear and under garments to help our homeless clients stay dry and warm through San Francisco’s cold and rainy winter. NAAP politely requests that all donations be in good clean condition and that underwear and socks be new. Although we appreciate all clothing donations, all other clothing types can be donated in the name of NAAP to Community Thrift (http://www.communitythriftsf.org/).
Donate to NAAP

Don’t have any new clothes but want to give back? No problem! Make a financial contribution to NAAP through the Network for Good. Check with your employer before you make a donation and see if they will match your donation! All donations are tax deductible, so be sure to get your donations to us before the New Year!
Stay up to date with NAAP and follow us on Facebook!
