ABOUT
NATIVE AMERICAN AIDS PROJECT NAAP MISSION STATEMENT The Native
American AIDS Project (NAAP) is committed to providing a wide range of
culturally competent services for all Native American People affected by
HIV/AIDS and other diseases by promoting and maintaining the overall health
of this diverse community. ABOUT NAAP Founded in 1994, the Native American AIDS Project is the only
organization providing culturally specific HIV prevention and CARE services
to Native Americans in the state of California. Staff and volunteers come from diverse communities with an
indigenous understanding of cultural issues. The Native American AIDS Project embraces the entire
community; youth, elders, men and women, gay, straight, two-spirited, sober
and actively using. All services draw upon Native cultural, spiritual, behavioral
and medical traditions to communicate HIV prevention messages. Native Americans living in NAAP provides a vital link to case management, treatment
advocacy, peer advocacy, mental health and primary medical care for HIV
